Join Lama Losang/Dr. David Bole for a fascinating weekend discussing the philosophy and practices of Tibetan Buddhism. This weekend is designed for those new to Buddhism, as well as experienced practitioners. Participants will experience a wide range of topics with emphasis on meditation practices and becoming familiar with one’s own mind.

Topics will feature exploration of the Buddha’s teachings. including:

  • Meditation
  • Four Noble Truths
  • Refuge
  •  Four Thoughts that turn the Mind to Dharma
  • Entering the Stream to Enlightenment
  • Incorporating Meditation into daily life

There will be time for questions, as well as private interview time after­wards, for those who wish to participate in the Refuge Ceremony.

What is Refuge? After the student has listened, contemplated and practiced the teachings of the Buddha, and has experienced the benefits, one might consider formally entering the Buddhist Path by taking Refuge in the Three Jewels, Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

DR. DAVID BOLE (LAMA LOSANG) is currently director of the Traditional Acupuncture Center, a holistic healthcare facility in Gainesville, FL, and the resident teaching Lama for the Gainesville Karma Thegsum Chöling, Tibetan Buddhist meditation center, under the guidance of Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, abbot of Karma Tiyana Dharmachakra monastery in Woodstock, NY.  He received a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Univ. of Florida and a Doctor of Acupuncture from the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in Oxford, England. He is a licensed Acupuncture Physician and teaches Asian medicine, meditation and Tai Chi Chuan and has also completed the traditional three-year retreat in the Karma Kagyu Tradition. As a Westerner trained in these ancient healing arts, he bridges the gap between Eastern and Western philosophical approaches and provides a unique synthesis to health and healing.
